Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and SLON (“SLON,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the SLON VPN mobile applications, our website at slon.world, and related support services (together, the “Service”).
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and forms part of these Terms.
The service and your account
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Availability
We work to keep SLON fast and reliable, but the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. Server locations, speeds, and features may change, and we may suspend or modify parts of the Service for maintenance, security, or legal reasons.
Local law
VPN use is restricted or regulated in some countries. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service is lawful where you are located.
Subscriptions and payment
SLON may offer free and paid plans. Paid subscriptions purchased on iOS are processed by Apple through your Apple Account, and Apple’s terms govern that transaction.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price shown at purchase.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any free trial ends immediately if you purchase a subscription, and unused trial time is forfeited.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its refund policy. We cannot issue refunds on Apple’s behalf.
We may change prices or plan features. Price changes apply to future billing periods and, where required, only after notice and your consent.
Acceptable use
SLON exists to protect ordinary, lawful use of the internet. You agree not to use the Service to:
- Break any applicable law or infringe anyone’s rights, including intellectual property rights.
- Send spam, run phishing or malware campaigns, or distribute harmful code.
- Attack, scan, overload, or disrupt any network, server, or service, including ours.
- Access accounts, systems, or data you are not authorized to access.
- Transmit material that exploits children or is otherwise illegal to distribute.
- Resell, sublicense, or share the Service in a way not expressly permitted by your plan.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Circumvent usage limits, bypass security controls, or use automated means to abuse the Service.
We may investigate suspected abuse and take action to protect the network, our users, and third parties, including limiting or suspending accounts.
License and ownership
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the SLON apps on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. On iOS, this license is also subject to Apple’s Usage Rules in the App Store Terms of Service.
SLON and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including software, design, trademarks, and content. These Terms grant you no rights other than the license described above.
Third parties and Apple
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure, hosting, diagnostics, and payment platforms. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, or content you reach through the VPN connection.
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and SLON, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the apps. If an app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the apps, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that any particular server or location will be available, or that using a VPN will make you anonymous in all circumstances. A VPN protects the connection between your device and our servers; it does not protect against every threat, including malware, phishing, or information you choose to share.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SLON and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or relating to the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity and termination
You agree to indemnify and hold SLON harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably suspect abuse, or if we are required to do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity.
Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version here and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without limiting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
